New In Fashion: Lazy Oaf Spring 2014

There's this un-repressible love for Japanese culture that has lingered through my life. Tokyo is a destination I dream of traveling to... and will within the next couple of years, it's a goal! Lazy Oaf has just released their Spring 2014 collection shot in this amazing robot cafe, I believe it's a club where you can eat dinner and watch a robot and dinosaur show... sounds insane and just perfect. Check out the video, and the soundtrack is Ryan Hemsworth (yay!).

Also here's one of my favorite artists and her new single which also happens to be shot in Tokyo and partially in the same cafe. Seeing a trend this season...

Katie's Top 10 Albums of 2013

This has been a top notch year for music. 2013 has brought some amazing albums that I was addicted to, to the point of repeat. I also selected my favorite track of each album, which was not easy guys!

10. Grimes- Visions
Okay I know, Grimes' album came out January 31st, 2012. I'm counting it in 2013. I loved this album, many night drives blaring and singing along to the sweet songstress.

-----------------------------------------

9. Giraffage- Needs
I love Needs. What a stunning sound Giraffage has, a new discovery of mine this year as well. If you haven't heard, give a listen.

-----------------------------------------

8. M.I.A. -Matangi
When I first heard M.I.A.'s mix for Kenzo earlier this year, I knew her next album was going to be killer. Rightfully so, it is pretty amazing and she has found her sound.

-----------------------------------------

7. Volcano Choir- Repave
Repave is a lovely album, I have a soft spot somewhere in there for chill indie music. This album hit the mark.

-----------------------------------------

6. Daft Punk- Random Access Memories
As a solid Daft Punk fan for many years, I have been awaiting this album for so long. It is pretty incredible what Daft Punk has done. They have taken their sound to a new level.

-----------------------------------------

5. Polica- Shulamith
I wasn't a huge fan of Polica until I really gave them a listen. The lead singers' voice is so distinct and unique, it defiantly took me a listen or 5 before I really fell hard for them. Really unique sounds.

-----------------------------------------

4. Lorde- Pure Heroine
I love this sudden young starlette! Lorde has taken the world by storm. She is super talented at the ripe age of 17 and her backing tracks are spot on, go girl.

-----------------------------------------

3. Kanye West- Yeezus
What a powerful album. I have been a Kanye fan for awhile, but this is by far my favorite album he's released. I will admit to Bound 2 having the ultimate cheesy video of the year but these songs are strong and some of my favorites he's created.

-----------------------------------------

2. Charli XCX- True Romance
I got really caught on this album after seeing Charli at Bonnaroo this past summer. She is amazing live as well as recorded.

-----------------------------------------

1. Disclosure - Settle
What do I even say... I was addicted. And even still when the songs from this album come on in shuffle on my iPod I can't help but sing along to every song at blasting volume. These young gents really took my heart with this album, and it is by far my favorite without a doubt.

Happy 2014! Hope it is as good as this past year has treated us!
