Inspiration: Re-awaken in White

White is one of the big colors for this spring... or lack thereof! I love the idea of an all white outfit, it slightly terrifies me because I'm a klutz of sorts.
There's just something about all white that is so pure, and especially on darker skin tones, I am oh so jealous of the way it pops. This reminds me of how I must sunbathe this summer because I'm like a little ghost from this terrible winter we had.
Don't forget to follow me on pinterest for more of my gatherings...

New In Fashion: Lazy Oaf Spring 2014

There's this un-repressible love for Japanese culture that has lingered through my life. Tokyo is a destination I dream of traveling to... and will within the next couple of years, it's a goal! Lazy Oaf has just released their Spring 2014 collection shot in this amazing robot cafe, I believe it's a club where you can eat dinner and watch a robot and dinosaur show... sounds insane and just perfect. Check out the video, and the soundtrack is Ryan Hemsworth (yay!).

Also here's one of my favorite artists and her new single which also happens to be shot in Tokyo and partially in the same cafe. Seeing a trend this season...

Inspiration: Blush Pink

Walking outside this morning was a little odd. It was around 42 degrees and yet I was still trudging through the mounds of snow in my blood red chunky heeled boots. I finally felt a bit of spring and it's inspiring me with my favorite color this season. Blush pink. Enjoy the round up of my favorite spring color this season.

Also: To my readers! I'm sorry for the lack of posts as of late, I'm working on some really exciting new projects... one of which will be resulting in a new blog with a close friend of mine. I will continue to update here until we have furthered our process! xoxo K

Inspiration: Mermaid Mood

Mermaids, mythological water spirits. I gathered my favorite mermaid inspired photos while I lay slowly withering away with a terrible sinus infection. I'm dreaming of floating through the warm oceans right now...

MBBFW: Christopher Palu of Project Runway Presentation

If you know me... you may know I am a HUGE Project Runway fan. I may not be a super fan (hope you watched that episode! I won't spoil it don't worry.) but I certainly know a lot about the show and the cast. When I heard Christopher Palu from season 10 would be speaking at a local college for Mercedes Benz of Buffalo Fashion Week, I knew I had to attend.

Christopher spoke about his trials and tribulations to get to where he is now. Before Project Runway he struggled to get into FIT but continued to work toward his goals. Eventually, he was accepted into the program and carried on towards his dreams by working as an intern at Vera Wang and Elle Magazine. He then gained a real position at Sam Edelman until he was eventually laid off. He says it was a "blessing in disguise" because shoe design wasn't his ultimate goal. Christopher is a clothing designer at heart, so when we received call backs from Project Runway he thought his dreams could really come true.

Christopher went from unemployed, to ruling Project Runway season 10. He was one of the final four (receiving 4th place) however won four challenges throughout the season, the first episodes challenge, the Rockettes challenge, the Baby's R Us challenge, and the Lord & Taylor challenge. His skills are very impressive and it's no surprise this is why he made it so far in the competition.

"If you give it, you'll definitely get it back" said Christopher about the help he received in his final collection. His sisters and his boyfriend helped him to complete his looks and he seemed very grateful for such. Christopher was such a sweet and genuine person, and extremely down to earth. He is now currently working at Haute Hippie as a designer and is happy with where he is at in his life!

Buffalo Happenings: Blush Boutique Grand Opening

I am always excited to hear of a new boutique opening in my area of Buffalo. I love to see this city thrive and grow, and especially one that is so darn cute and filled to the brim with trendy fashions. The store is on Elmwood Avenue in a growing area of the strip. Albeit small, they have really packed some of my favorite brands in there. Also it just happens to be down a couple blocks from my apartment, oh how convenient.

I was invited last night to the grand opening event and I stopped by to take a peek at what they have in stores. Some of my favorite brands they carry were Dolce Vita, For Love and Lemons, Ladakh, Mink Pink, BB Dakota, and House of Harlow.

They also carry Henry and Belle denim and Elan, which I spotted the most precious cream lace dress by. They carry sizes extra small through large, something for everyone. Their jewelry selection was also to die for, it was hard to restrain  myself from buying a couple pieces.

If you're in Buffalo, NY make sure you stop by the shop at 1005 Elmwood Ave. Buffalo, NY
and you'll receive 15% off this weekend as it is the grand opening!

Check out their online shop at ShopBlushNY.com

LFW: Anya Hindmarch's Out of this World

Oh my Anya... I have always been a huge fan of her fun bags, and the clothes are great to boot. But this show is fantastical (A Fashion Odyssey,. it was subtitled), with flying models and purses suspended in the air. The audience is ooh-ing and ah-ing as I would be too to see this in real life.

For The Weekend: Link Round Up

Let's get this weekend started! I am beyond ready for a little relaxing time with the boyfriend and the cat. What are your plans for the weekend? It has suddenly gotten much colder here so I'm really looking forward to curling up in blankets and watching the new episode of project runway while sipping some tea. Here are some fun things I found this week and worthy of checking out before I sign off for the weekend!

FASHION:

1. This editorial is like a creamy pastel tray of sweets. Life is Sweet via Mode.Newslicious

2. J Crew always puts on a great showing... Spring/Summer 2014 is no different. Via Style.com

3. FaceHunter does it again at Fashion Week. This is a great post and I am in love with these cool cats style. via FaceHunter

DIYS:

4. I absolutely need to make this storage box... I love being able to organize all my items and this is just the perfect thing for that. Also this is a no sew project, or very little sewing at least! Via Design and Form

5. This tote bag is made from an old leather jacket. What!? I personally do not own any old leather jackets (mine are all of the polyurethane assortment) but this would be a great DIY for a trip to the thrift store. Which I may have to do now that I've seen this. Via My Poppet

6. You know I just can't get enough of bags. So here's another! Whip up this sweet simple drawstring bag out of some fabric you know you've been collecting just because it's cute! Via The Purl Bee

Have a good weekend everyone!
